Karen Harrington claims Santina Cawley trial was fixed

Kat O'Connor

“She is deluded”

Karen Harrington was found guilty of murdering 2-year-old Santina Cawley in May, but the convicted killer believes she did nothing wrong.

According to new reports, Harrington genuinely believes that she has been framed.

A source told The Sun that Harrington is “deluded”.

She has been sentenced to life in prison but is in a lockdown cell in Limerick Prison due to safety reasons.

Prison officers are concerned that her fellow inmates will try to attack her.

“She is so deluded she has convinced herself she has done nothing wrong,” a source told The Sun.

The source said she has been sending letters to people and is blaming the Gardaí for her imprisonment.

She claimed that they didn’t show certain evidence during the trial.

“She doesn’t seem to be coping well and admitted her mood is low, they added.

“There’s a little girl dead because of her, and still all she can think about is herself.”

2-year-old Santina died on July 5th, 2019. She was found with over 50 injuries.

It is believed the young girl died from blunt force trauma.

Her mother Bridget said she will never recover from the tragic loss of her daughter.

Speaking to Virgin Media News, Bridget said her daughter’s murderer was emotionless in court.

“She just sat there in court as nothing happened. She was playing the game, that’s the way I see it.”

The mum said she will always have her memories of Santina, but she will never get over the loss.

“I’ll never get over what happened to our lovely baby.”
