We finally know what Prince Harry’s awkward hand gesture means

It all makes sense now.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are dominating the headlines this week with the pair announcing their engagement yesterday.

All eyes were on them as they appeared for a photocall at Kensington Palace but one question that the Her team had, see here, was why Harry was fumbling awkwardly with his suit.

This isn’t the first time Harry has been spotted doing this either, see the below picture with Melania Trump from this year’s Invictus Games in Toronto.

It seemed like he was trying to keep his jacket in place or something of the sort but according to one body language expert, there’s more going on.

As you may have guessed, Harry may not be at ease with the situation and could find it nervewracking to be in the public eye so much.

Traci Brown, a body language expert, spoke to Good Housekeeping and described this action as a “habit” Harry has become accustomed to.

Traci suggested that Harry may even be feeling “stress” and that tugging at clothes can sometimes indicate that the person in question is feeling out of place and/or uncomfortable.

However, Bianca Cobb, another professional well-versed in the logistics of body language said that as the 33-year-old is often pictured doing this, he probably doesn’t even realise.

Bianca said that this gesture is something Harry probably does subconsciously and to be fair, we all have little mannerisms we don’t even notice.
