A mother in Russia has given birth to a baby weighing almost 14lbs.
The newborn baby girl was welcomed by the 42-year-old woman in the town of Dagestanskiye Ogni, in south-western Russia’s Republic of Dagestan.
She delivered the child without any pain relief.
Health officials released the baby’s weight to press, however the woman is choosing to remain anonymous.
This is her fifth child.
Both mother and baby are said to be doing well, however, the medical team has said that the baby girl is experiencing hearing problems.
“Other problems may occur in the future,” they added.
The heaviest baby ever born, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, weighed 22lbs and eight ounces.
The baby boy was born to a healthy mother in Italy in 1955.
