We’re wishing Harvey a speedy recovery!
Katie Price, 45, has opened up about a parenting emergency she faced with her son Harvey, 21, who had to be taken to the hospital after he called her up in tears.
Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the former glamour model explained that her son had been showing signs that he was having issues with his ear, which prompted Price to take action and seek medical attention.
Harvey is blind and has been diagnosed with septo-optic dysplasia, as well as autism and a rare genetic disorder called Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), meaning he requires constant care.
PWS is a genetic condition that can impact muscle tone, sexual development, and the function of the nervous system. Those with the condition are more likely to have learning difficulties.
It can also lead to childhood obesity, as PWS can also spark a constant desire to eat food and a permanent feeling of hunger.

According to the National Organisation of Rare Diseases, the rare condition affects between 1 in 10,000 and 30,000 individuals in the general population and about 350,000 and 400,000 individuals worldwide.
“I’m going to see Harvey on Wednesday; he’s having real problems with his ear. They’ve syringed his ear out at the hospital again yesterday. He’s calling me going – crying – “Mum!”, and all that,” the media personality explained.
Harvey has been living independently at the specialist further education institute National Star College in Gloucestershire since Price relinquished her role as his primary carer when he turned 19 years old.
“Last night when he went to bed, they put a bandage around his head to stop him doing that with his ear. So he’s phoning me, feeling sorry for himself. I’m going to go see him on Wednesday.
“All he wants to do is stay in a hotel, and I know why, because he wants all the room service. But his behaviour is so bad at the moment, and his ear doesn’t help. Like, I can bring him home, but he will smash everything,” Price confessed.
Price is a single parent to her son, whom she shares with retired footballer Dwight Yorke.
Several years ago, she discussed Yorke’s non-existent role in Harvey’s life and a moment where she met him in a Chesire restaurant to find out if he wanted to be in their son’s life in her book, Harvey & Me: A Mother’s Love.
“I brought up what Harvey had said to him on his birthday and asked if he would like to start seeing him regularly.
“And that’s when he put the final nail in the coffin and said, ‘To be honest, I’ve disowned you, and I’ve disowned Harvey out of my life. I don’t want anything to do with either of you.’ Wow. How low can you get?” she wrote.
