This story might make you think twice about finding out the gender of your baby

A lot of mums are getting the internet to guess the sex of their baby

Finding out the gender of your unborn baby can be one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy. Not only that but it means you can prepare way more than you might have done if you chose to keep it a surprise.

So imagine how shocked these new parents were when they welcomed a baby girl into the world, after being told several months earlier that they were expecting a boy.

The young couple from Surrey, UK paid for a gender screening at a private clinic that promises a 99 per cent accuracy rate, then spent hundreds on a new nursery and clothes for their baby, whom they decided to call Harry.

The new dad told the London Evening Standard that when his wife gave birth two weeks early in their home, it took him around half an hour to realise that the baby was in fact a girl (now called Lola) because he didn’t think to check. “It was only when the midwives arrived and started taking charge of things that I realised my mistake,” he said.
