This online shopping hack is going to save you a ton of money

You can thank us later.

You’re welcome!

More and more of us are doing the bulk of our Christmas shopping online, trying our best to avoid the crowded high streets and manic shopping centres.

No matter what you’re buying, you need to know about this nifty little shopping hack that could potentially end up saving you a whole lot of money.

You know all those coupons you see for discounts here and free shipping there? But you can never quite remember to write down the discount codes or remember the expiry dates on any of them, nor even what store they are for? Well, Google has just answered your prayers, mamas, all in the shape of a nifty little Chrome extension called ‘Honey’.

What is it, I hear you ask as you scramble to download? Well, this savvy little tool takes the stress out of keeping up to speed on offers and discounts by digging out money off codes, free shipping deals and promotions for thousands of online shops and applies them before you ‘add to basket’.

Once you have installed it, Honey will display a little badge alongside the price of things you are browsing, indicating whether or not you’re seeing the best price or deal.

All you have to do is hit the Honey button before heading to check-out with your little virtual cart, and voila; you spree just got cheaper.

And if you are thinking about holding off on your Christmas shopping until December, you might want to think again and start getting the pennies together, because according to Life Hacker, November is actually the month that offers the biggest discounts (an average of 5.99%). And as for when you should hit the web with your credit card in hand, the website claims the best days to shop are Tuesday and Thursday, while the worst being Sunday.
