Have you ever heard a name and automatically smiled, or have you ever immediately grimaced at the mention of a particular moniker? Most people have because the names remind them of people they do or don’t like.
And now the names most and least likely to make one smile have been revealed.
The results stem from a UK survey carried out by the Oral Health Foundation for this year’s National Smile Month and reported on by The Huffington Post.
Over 2,000 people were asked the following questions: “What is the name of a person who makes you smile the most?” and “What is the first name of the person who makes you smile the least?”
It was found that the male name most likely to draw out a smile was George (perhaps inspired by a certain little Prince). Dave, James, Steve and Andrew finished off the top 5.
As for boy names least likely to make you smile, these were found to be David (people must be divided on this one!), Jeremy, John, Donald and Ian.
The female names that evoked a sense of happiness among the participants were Emily, Molly, Sarah, Lucy and Lily.
As for those that were found to be least likely to make one show their pearly whites, they included June, Donna, Helen, Louise and Lisa.
