These frozen mojito slushies are ALL over Pinterest right now

Say hello to the drink that tastes like a holiday

Trine Jensen-Burke

Last year wine slushies pretty much broke the internet (and our collective minds) – seriously; they were that delicious.

But this summer, we reckon, we’d like to try something new on the frozen alcohol front, and as luck would have it, we discoverd these really yum-sounding ones on Pinterest (where else?).

Say hello to the frozen mojito slushie – or, as you can also call it, holiday in a glass. The best bit? All you need is a blender and a hot day. (Note: Hot day optional).

Frozen Mojito Slushies

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup (80ml) fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
  • zest of 2 limes
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) light rum
  • 5 cups crushed ice
  • garnish: mint leaves, lime slices, fancy umbrellas

Directions

  1. Add everything to a blender and blend on high until it reaches a slushie-like consistency. Taste. Add more sweetener, lime juice, rum, or mint based on your preference.
  2. Make ahead tip: Prepare frozen mojitos up to two hours ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the freezer. Before serving, give it a stir then scoop into glasses. They will be extra frosty this way!

Go on; what are your waiting for – who needs sunshine anyway?!
