THIS 85 calorie guilt-free ice cream could be a MAJOR game changer

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Imagine if there was an ice cream that boasted all the smooth, creamy goodness of your favourite brand, with only a fraction of the calories.

Thanks to British brothers Charlie and Harry Thuillier, you may not have to imagine for very much longer.

The inventive twosome have created Oppo; an ice cream with fewer calories than an apple, at just 85 calories for two scoops.

Charlie says: “The idea was born during a record breaking expedition we did in Brazil – travelling 1000km along the coast using kites. We ran out of supplies so started eating wild coconuts and the local açaí berry, which are delicious and nutritious. This sparked a love for using natural ingredients to make gorgeous food and a mission to prove you don’t have to sacrifice health for something to taste really indulgent.”

On their return, the brothers got to work on a recipe that replaced sugar and cream with virgin coconut oil and stevia leaf (sweet, natural, zero calorie). They boosted each blend with delicious super foods, including no hidden nasties or dodgy additives.

Their three flavours are Mint Choc Swirl with antioxidant-rich spirulina, Salted Caramel with Peruvian lucuma and Madagascan Vanilla, which is made with Vitamin-C packed baobab.

Oppo is currently stocked at UK stores such as Waitrose and Ocado, but the boys hope to roll out their offering further afield as soon as possible.

We live in hope of it arriving here this summer.
