whipped coffee

SO good!

Being an avid Pinterest user (The interiors! The food! The fashion!), I recently started seeing some seriously delicious-looking images of drinks which kind of looked like hybrids of an iced coffee and a milkshake trending.

After a few days of these frothy treats popping up ever more frequently in my feed, I realised I needed to investigate, and guys, what I discovered is something so insanely yummy you all need to know about it. Especially now when let’s face it, we could all do with some cheering up.

Say hello to whipped coffee – the treat you never knew you needed, but will absolutely love. Trust me.

And the best bit? It could not be easier to make.

To make whipped coffee (also called Dalgona Coffee) all you need is to mix instant coffee with sugar and water until it becomes thick and frothy – and then spoon it over a few ice cubes and the milk of your choice.

Apparently, the world’s obsession with the beverage began to take off thanks to a viral video on TikTok, which now has more than 10 million views.

Here is the viral and delicious recipe according to Bustle:

First, combine two tablespoons of instant coffee, two tablespoons of granulated sugar, and two tablespoons of hot water in a small mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer or latte frother to beat the mixture until it gets really thick, with a golden brown colour.

Next, pour the milk of your choice into a glass with a few ice cubes. Scoop the mixture out of the bowl and place it on top of the cold milk. And that’s it!

So there you have it, mums. If you have been looking for something to keep you busy and fulfilled while practising social distancing, this just might be it!
