A piece of cake from Kate and Will’s wedding is going up for auction

Can we eat it though?

Say what?

It’s been six years since Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in one of the most lavish ceremonies of the century.

It’s safe to say we were all glued to our TVs that morning, swooning over her intricate gown and trying to spot the celebs in attendance.

However, one thing we never got to see on the day was the after party, where the guests ate cake that took six weeks to make.

And it seems like a slice might have been left over as it has been announced a piece of the eight-tier sweet stuff is going up for auction.

The piece, which was designed by baker to the stars, Fiona Cairns, is going up for sale at Chiswick Auction House on September 27, with the price starting at €1,100.

But the cake isn’t the only thing you’ll receive.

According to The Telegraph, with the slice, you will also get a white and gold cake tin with a note that reads, “With best wishes from TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in celebration of the wedding of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”

It might not still be edible, but it’s a pretty cool keepsake to have.
