But speaking to Harper’s Bazaar US ahead of the release of her intimate new memoir Inside Out, Demi Moore revealed that she previously suffered a miscarriage during her relationship with Ashton Kutcher.

The now 56-year-old actress recalled losing her baby at six months while dating Kutcher back in 2005, who was 27 at the time.

The couple had been expecting a girl, who they were going to name Chaplin Ray.

Speaking to her friend Lena Dunham, who interviewd her for Harper’s Bazaar, Moore reveals that she blamed herself because she had started drinking again and abusing Vicodin after a prolonged period of sobriety.

During her relationship with the 18-years-younger Kutcher, Moore was relentlessly mocked by the press  – she was 42 at the start of their romance – and was branded a “grandma bride” when they married in 2005.

Explaining how she hid her reaction to the humiliation heaped upon her by the press and public, Moore tells Harper’s Bazaar US: “As a woman, a mother, and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”

Reflecting on dating Kutcher (via The New York Times), the Hollywood star writes in her autobiography: “[Dating Ashton] was a do-over, like I could just go back in time and experience what it was like to be young, with him – much more so than I’d ever been able to experience it when I was actually in my twenties.”

Moore and Kutcher divorced after eight years of marriage in 2013.

Inside Out, which is due to be released later this month, sees Moore share revelatory insights into her past relationships and her dysfunctional childhood, and the star also reflects on how her struggles with alcohol and substance abuse affected her former marriage to Bruce Willis and their daughters – Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
