Love Island’s Laura Anderson has pleaded with mum-shamers to ‘stop being negative’ after she was accused of letting her daughter Bonnie get sunburnt.

The new mum has taken her two-month-old baby, who she shares with Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy, on her first holiday to Dubai.

While the reality TV personality welcomes advice from mum followers, she says some should be mindful of their ‘delivery’.

This comes as some users accused the Love Island star of failing to protect Bonnie from the sun.

In a holiday snap shared by Laura, social media users were mostly kind and offered well wishes to the mum.

However, in since-deleted comments, some comments were made that Bonnie’s skin was ‘red’.

Speaking to The Sun, Laura addressed the mum-shaming she has been subjected to.

“I think it’s few and far between – I think sometimes people can pick up on it and focus on the negative.”

“I think since becoming a mum, my social media space has become more positive and I can resonate with mums and talking about real stuff.

“I get so many DMs on the daily about silly little daily things and it means so much to engage with my community. But it’s all about the delivery, it’s all about how you say it.”

The 34-year-old acknowledged that many mean well and she actually appreciates a lot of the advice that comes her way, as long as it’s delivered nicely.

“But I think people messaging me saying ‘I’m not being mean, but just to let you know’ and I appreciate that. It could be sound advice that I wouldn’t have known.”
