People are less than impressed with tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing result

Fans believe the wrong couple was sent home from Strictly tonight.

The first Strictly Come Dancing results show aired this evening and fans are less than impressed by the outcome.

Tonight’s episode saw the return of the dance-off and a fan-favourite landed in the bottom two.

EastEnders actress Nina Wadia and her professional dance partner Neil competed against Hollyoaks star Katie McGlynn and pro-dancer Gorka.

Wadia performed a feisty tango and McGlynn danced a jive.

The dances received some of the lowest points on Saturday’s show, but fans were hoping Wadia’s Samba from Week 1 did enough to get her through.

Unfortunately, head judge Shirley Ballas decided to save Kate and Gorka.

Ballas said it was “one of the closest battles I think we’ve ever had in a dance-off”.

Speaking about her short time on the show, Nina Wadia said: “It’s been really fun, thank you so much. Neil is incredible, thank you.”

“You’ve been a dream. Second partner on the show for me. I wouldn’t have wanted anybody else,” Neil Jones shared.

“It’s been so much fun together, you said you wanted to dance and you’ve done two fantastic dances and I’m really, really, really proud of you,” he added.

Fans of Wadia and Jones expressed their shock on social media following the results.

“Gutted! I was looking forward to seeing her do some more upbeat dances!” one said.

Another added, “Very wrong decision imo, Nina was so much better than Katie, sorry but she was so much more relaxed, should never have gone home.”

“Totally robbed, they were by far the better couple!”

“Obviously Anton is the only one with any sense of good dancing. Bargain basement dancing from Katie despite Gorka. A second week of appalling marks and decisions from the other 3 judges. Seriously thinking of switching off,” one admitted.
