Would you expect your babysitter to do chores as well as minding your child?
A mum has sparked a heated debate online after admitting she leaves her babysitter a list of chores to do.
The main role of a babysitter is to care for your children, but this mum wants her babysitter to do chores too.
Katrina Ivan explained on TikTok that she runs a small business which means she doesn’t have time to do chores.
She leaves a list for her babysitter with the promise of paying her per chore. She stressed that she would never expect her babysitter to carry out the chores with additional payment.
The mum said: “I am a teacher and I have a small business that is in the busy season. Little things have been let go for too long. If my sitter decides to do this, I’ll be forever grateful,” the mum said.
“If not, I’ll get to it later like I already had planned,” she added.
The mum even posted the note she leaves for the babysitter, which was surprisingly nice.
The note reads: “You are more than welcome to hang out and watch TV all night but if you want to make some extra cash, these jobs are up for grabs.
“Just let me know if you decided to do any of these and the grand total I owe you on top of the babysitting money. Thanks for being here.”
Many parents felt like it was unfair to ask her to do chores, but others said it was fair because she was being paid.
