Actress Teresa Palmer has spoken out about a common problem that pregnant ladies experience – the sudden and urgent need to pee.
The Warm Bodies star is documenting her pregnancy through a video blog and this week she spoke about an issue she had whilst out shopping in Adelaide.
She explained:
“Another thing that’s happened this week, which is a little different from previous weeks, is that desperate need to pee thing. So, I’ve been peeing so much more…
“When I need to pee, I need to pee. So, today when I was in Glenelg in Adelaide and we were doing a bit of shopping, all of a sudden the urge came on. And I was like, ‘I need to pee.’”
Unfortunately for her, it seemed that none of the customer assistants were allowed to let her use the bathroom facilities.
She continued:
“I went from shop to shop – three different shops – and they could definitely tell I’m pregnant. I asked to use the bathroom and they were like, ‘No, the bathrooms are not for customers.’
“I was like, ‘Please, I have a baby sitting on my bladder. I’m desperate.’ They said, ‘Mmm, sorry, store policy.’”
Teresa added that she can’t see why shops don’t let you use the bathroom if it’s obvious that you are pregnant and could soon lose control of your bladder.
She said:
“Like, if you know they’re pregnant, and we’re quite obviously pregnant, it’s not like we have a lot of time before we’re going to pee our pants because there’s a baby sitting on our bladder.”
Thankfully the 30-year-old finally found someone – a man working in a taco place whose wife recently gave birth – who understood and let her go to the toilet.
