The mother of all cake shops has opened in Dublin

Katie Mythen-Lynch

If there’s one thing we talk about more than anything else here at HerFamily.ie HQ, it is dessert.

Most recently we’ve been swooning over miniature Poptarts and Ferrero Rocher cupcakes, then there was donut-topped milkshakes and a peanut butter mug cake, the best no-bake fudge squares, oh… and the Nutella ice pop. And that’s just August.

This week however, a magical door opened to a place where you can get your sticky fingers on almost all of these decadent, calorific treats on one epic menu.

The brainchild of the talented folk behind Decobake, Sweet Republic on Dublin’s Bachelor’s Walk is where diet plans go to die and dieters go to dance on their graves.

Needless to say, the queue stretched out the door on opening day, as hungry sugar addicts descended on the store for S’mores Waffle Sandwiches (with Reese’s, Oreos or Crunchie, natch -€6.50), Extreme Milkshakes in blends such as (€6) and Giant Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches (€5).

Here are just a few of the INSANE menu options we can’t wait to try at Sweet Republic…
