The elves have been very busy.

An Post are urging Irish kids to send their letters to Santa early this year.

The head elves have been onto the lads down the office and said they’ve been working extra hard to ensure that Santa gets round to every single letter in time for Christmas.

Overall, he receives over 140,000 letters from Irish kids every year.

Head elves Fergal and Ruth say that all the guys are “very busy” in the workshop preparing for Christmas.

“We have received so many of your letters and all the elves are working hard, helping Santa and packing toys and gifts.

“Be sure to write early. In your letter clearly write your (child’s) name and address.

“Post your letter to: Santa Claus, North Pole (using a €1 stamp).

“Santa’s helpers in An Post will make sure you receive a personal reply from the great man himself, just before Christmas.”

Sounds simple enough.

Parents can also download a template of a Santa letter from the An Post website here.
