“The light of my life was dimmed forever”

The teenage boy who murdered 12-year-old Ava White has been sentenced to life in prison.

The boy, who is now 15, will spend a minimum of 13 years in prison after he brutally stabbed Ava White in the neck.

According to The Mirror, the judge told him to grow up during his time behind bars.

Justice Amanda Yip handed down the sentence this afternoon. However, she agreed that the boy’s identity should remain anonymous because he has already been threatened.

Speaking after the hearing, Ava’s mum Leanne said every day is a living nightmare for her.

Ava’s mother shared, “It’s not one horrific moment, our lives became permanently divided into before and after.

“My beloved Ava dies all over again every morning I wake up.”

“She was my life, the life, and soul of the party. She was a happy, healthy child adored by her family. The light of my life was dimmed forever.

“Now I have nothing to live for. I remember how excited she was for Christmas. Never could I imagine I would never see my beautiful baby alive again.

“My heart is broken. I will never hear her laughter or hold her in my arms. Precious memories are all I have left of my Ava.

Ava was attending a Christmas event when she was killed. It is believed she got into an argument with the teenage boy when she caught him filming her on Snapchat.

Ava’s friends were with her when she passed away. She begged her friends not to leave her.

Ava was pronounced dead on November 25th, 2021. She was buried just days before Christmas.
