Mum defends her decision to dye her two-year-old daughter’s hair PINK

It's proved highly controversial.

One mum is attracting a lot of attention – all because she decided to dye her toddler’s hair a glorious shade of bright PINK.

Yup, vlogger Charity Grace LeBlanc showed off her preschooler hair-dye skills on Instagram and YouTube recently.

She explained online that her daughter, aged two, “has been begging me for a long time so we finally just went ahead and did it!”

Charity Grace added: “I used Manic Panic Hot Pink which is a direct dye and is safe for kids. It washed out in about 3-4 days.”

And while most commentators were in agreement that the little girl, Felicity, is completely adorable, many did also state that the decision to colour the child’s locks at such a young age was incorrect.

“I would never do this to my kid. My kid is still a KID,” said one person on Instagram. Meanwhile, others called the mum out for being “selfish” or “irresponsible”.

At least there were plenty of additional folk who reckoned Charity Grace had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

“I love her hair. Super cute. I think it is awesome that you would give her the choice of having fun colors in her hair,” stated one. Another added: “If you’re not a parent you shouldn’t even be commenting. Anyways I would love to do theses things with my daughter she already tries doing makeup; it’s called bonding.”

We’d particularly loved this take – from a YouTube viewer: “There is a lot of support, and a lot of controversy revolving around this video, but the bottom line is that it’s her kid.

“The kid is totally fine (and super excited) about the pink hair, and besides all that, she’s not even using bleach, and the dye she’s using does not contain any harsh chemicals, is vegan, and semi-permanent.

“Nobody has anything to worry about. The dye does not damage hair.”

They added: “I’m totally supportive of what she’s doing, and I think it’s really cute how excited her daughter is!”

Ms LeBlanc has also told the Huffington Post that she did a lot of research before coloring Felicity’s hair, and that no bleach was involved.

“The dye I used is equivalent of a vegetable dye mixed with conditioner. Harmless and washed out in just three days. Totally worth the the three days of pink blissful toddler happiness.”
