My husband cheated on me while I was dealing with bereavement, I’m shattered

What would you do in this situation?

Dealing with the death of a loved one is a very difficult process and a time when you need your support system around you. Unfortunately, this bereaved one had quite the opposite experience, when he husband slept with another woman while she was in the throws of grief. Speaking to parenting forum Mama Uncut the woman said that not only did her husband cheat on her, but she had to find out from the other woman;

"My husband had an affair at work Long story short I’ve been dealing with depression which is why I no longer feel the need to be intimate, sex is the last thing on my mind anymore because I’m grieving I’ve lost people in my life that were very important to me. And to make it worse he didn’t confess to me himself, the girl he slept with told me herself and when I confronted him about it he denied it. The only way I got the truth from him was to make a deal that if he just told me the truth we would stay together. And he admitted that yes he did have sex with her at their place of work. My heart is shattered and I don’t know what to do. I could really use some helpful advice."

Not surprisingly, all of the responses were shock and anger towards the husband for what he had done with many saying to just leave him;

"Cheating is never the answer. Lying and cheating? You really want that in your life? Let him go and don't look back."

Some other commenters suggested couples therapy but only if she want to;

"Absolutely not okay and you do not have to keep that agreement to stay if you don't want to. However, many couples overcome infidelity when BOTH partners are committed to repairing the relationship. Therapy for each of you and couples counseling would be my suggestion if you want to try to salvage the marriage."
