IKEA is selling its own chocolate Easter bunny – that you have to build yourself

Of course.

Anna O'Rourke

Christmas morning is a hellscape of toys that require your attention before they work.

Parents who wake up in the hours after Santa has been may think that they’ll get to enjoy some family time opening gifts, but it’s rarely that simple.

Anything that lights up/ makes noise/ moves around? It needs batteries. The intricate doll house, play kitchen or train set? It needs to be built.

Cue mum and dad on the floor fiddling with small plastic parts while it’s not yet bright outside.

Easter has traditionally been an easier day for parents – wake up, watch your kids hunt for eggs and then tuck into some chocolate.

It’s lots of fun with half the effort of Christmas.

Until now.

The folks at IKEA have released their own chocolate bunny in time for Easter.

Like all products from the Swedish retailer this seasonal treat is streamlined, affordable – and requires at-home assembly.

To be fair, this flat-pack rabbit comes in just three pieces so it won’t require the same mental energy and patience as, say, building a bedside locker.

Of course, you could leave the work up to the kids but we don’t think we know any little people with the willpower to build this before eating it all.

The VÅRKÄNSLA bunny costs €3.95 and is available now.

Happy building!
