Billy was hospitalised with fluid in his lungs.

TOWIE star Amy Childs broke down in tears discussing her “traumatic” experience giving birth to twins named Billy and Millie last month.

Amy’s newborn son suffered a prolapsed umbilical cord after Amy’s waters broke.

The star revealed that she was rushed into theatre while in labour and it was the scariest experience of her life.

She described it as a “long and exhausting labour”.

The 32-year-old shares kids Polly, five and Ritchie, four and twins Billy and Amelia with fiancé, Billy Delbosq.

In a clip teasing the reality star’s new TV show, she was visibly upset speaking about the birth of the twins.

She said: “It was awful, it was just tragic. And I just looked at Bill thinking, ‘What is going on? Is the baby alright?’

“Then the midwife was running me to theatre with her hand still inside me so that the cord doesn’t come out, cause the minute that comes out, the baby would’ve died.”

According to The Sun, baby Billy was hospitalised with fluid on his lungs shortly after his birth. The devastating scenes are set to be shown in the star’s new series.

Thankfully, the twins are doing great now.

Amy said she planned to give birth naturally but because of the rare issues with Billie, she was booked in for an emergency Caesarean section.

She remembers how scary it was being in the delivery room and how it was “really sad” looking at Billy in the intensive care unit.

Amy said: “It’s really rare. The midwife was amazing, she knew the cord was there.

“He was in the neonatal unit. So, my Bill put me in a wheelchair to go down to the other ward to feed him – he had all wires around him.”

In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Amy said she’s in a much more positive mind-frame now.

She said her two babies are doing “fine” and are both “really good babies.”

The mum also said her six-week-old twins, Billie and Amelia “look completely different”.

Days after Amy’s terrifying birth, partner Billy Delbosq popped the question and the couple are now planning to get married.

She took to Instagram to announce the news which showed her twin babies wearing onesies that read: “Mummy, will you marry my daddy?” – too cute.
