3 simple ways to make laundry seem like (slightly) less of a chore

Sive O'Brien

Washing may be the never-ending story of housework when you’ve got a family, but there’s one thing I dislike even more than trying to find the bottom of my laundry basket.

For me, having to put away clean clothes and linen is right up there with taking the rubbish out and cleaning the toilet  – I hate it. So much so, in fact, that many of my clean clothes can be found in the washing basket rather than the wardrobe.

Here are three simple and clever ways to make that chore a little less of a bore. (Note: Turning your washing basket into a wardrobe is NOT one of them.)

1. Fold a t-shirt in under two seconds.

2. Fold a fitted sheet in 30 seconds.

3. Keep sheets neat

Once you have folded your sheets, store them in one of the pillowcases from the set so you don’t have to rummage through ALL the linen in the cupboard trying to find matching bedding.
