Study suggests new dads do this one thing to make their partner happier

It's really very simple.

Being a new parent is tough.

There’s no denying it.

There’s about a million new things to learn, to do, and to figure out.

Sometimes it feels like you’re the only person in the world going through it.

However, a new study has suggested that there is one thing new dads should be doing to make things a little bit easier for new mums.

In fact, it’s actually been proven to make them more satisfied in the relationship too.

And that’s pulling their weight.

It may sound simple… and that’s because it is.

A new study conducted by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute has found that in order to be emotionally happy and satisfied after having a baby, new dads need to share the load as much as possible.

1,500 new mums were surveyed, and the results of the study found that the more their partners were splitting the work equally, the more emotionally satisfied they were 18 months down the line.

Co-author of the study, Ellie MacDonald says that when couples feel like a “team,” it makes achieving satisfaction a lot easier.

“Partnership and sharing the workload emerged as an important theme for mothers.

“Feeling part of a team really made the difference.

“And nothing makes you feel more part of a team than when partners share the domestic load.”

The main points that came out of the study was that new dads should share the domestic work, discuss the changes that have occurred in the relationship since the arrival of the baby, and ensure that new mums have some time for themselves at least once a week.

Easier said than done though, right?
