Her baby shower did not go according to plan

A mum has sparked a major debate online after she kicked her best friend out of her baby shower.

She explained that her friend Sara has been distant since getting involved in a new relationship. She has been cancelling plans at the last minute to spend time with her new partner.

Her actions have understandably hurt her friend, but things took a bad turn during a baby shower.

The expectant mum explained that she confronted Sara about how she kept letting her down. To make it up to her, Sara offered to help plan her baby shower.

When they were planning the event, the mum-to-be stressed that she didn’t want anyone’s partners to attend.

She wrote on Reddit: “I sent Sara the all-girl guest list to let her know how many heads she’d have to account for. My sister helped, and I made it clear to both of them to add on the invites no partners, except one of my friends Amy’s invite as she is gay and I wanted her girlfriend to come.”

However, on the day of the baby shower, Sara showed up to the party with Ted.

“I got upset and then my sister asked Sara if she could ask Ted to leave, but Sara said if Ted left she would too so I kicked them both out,” the poster revealed.

She was upset after the incident and admitted she missed Sara, but was she right?

Many users agreed that Sara was acting out of line and was being a bad friend.

However, others said being flaky at the beginning of a new relationship is to be expected.

One user said it may be a wise idea to keep her distance from Sara if she’s going to continue disappointing her.

They wrote: “Sorry to say it but you may have to accept a lot more distance in/say bye to this friendship if Sara stays with Ted.”

What do you think?
