The name they went with is lovely.

A couple in the UK has taken the unusual move of asking strangers online for help naming their baby.

It’s a big decision and not one most parents take lightly, so Becky Lang and Ian Miller from Plymouth decided to put a call out online for suggestions, reports Cornwall Live.

The new mum recently asked members of a Facebook group for help just a few days after giving birth to a little boy.

“Help! Had a baby boy on Saturday and decided to see what he looked like to name him!,” she wrote in a post to the group

“To say we are stuck is an understatement! Please spam me with names ladies…here is a picture to give you a hand.”

The members didn’t let her down, quickly offering over 1,500 ideas for names.

Becky was already mum to seven year-old Alleigha Louise, four-year-old Vincent John Scott and two-year-old Richie William.

She said choosing names for the others hadn’t proven as difficult and that they ha also waited until Richie was born to name him and so hadn’t been worried.

“I had been searching for names everywhere but I didn’t like anything I was seeing. I just wanted something that would suit him.”

With the help of the Facebook group members, Becky and Ian eventually settled on Oliver Edward George.

“I’d seen Oliver and Ollie come up a lot and we thought it worked well with Vinnie and Richie.”

Ahhh.
