Some of the best conversations happen over a cuppa!

We won’t get into an argument about which teabags reign supreme, but we can likely all agree that tea stains are a dreaded sight.

One cleaning enthusiast has shared a method for removing unsightly stains from mugs so we can go forth enjoying our copious cups of Rosie Lee shame-free.

In the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, one tea drinker had reached boiling point over the tea stains at the end of their mugs.

Once they decided they’d had enough, they resorted to the group to seek advice.

“Please can anyone tell me how I can get this stain out of my mug?” they asked.

“It always gets washed in the dishwasher so I don’t understand why it has gone like that in the first place, thank you.”

Coming to the rescue, a fellow cleaning enthusiast shared their tried and tested technique for sparkly clean cups and mugs, describing it as the ‘best trick’.

“I always soak my cups and teaspoons once every six months or so in bleach, works a treat and brings them up like new,” they wrote.

“Best trick I was ever taught, I got sick of buying new teaspoons and then my good old mum mentioned bleach, and it’s game-changing.”

Other group members joined the discussion, echoing their success using the bleach method.

“I soak my mugs once a week with water and bleach. No need to buy anything specific, just a little bleach and water and soak it for five minutes,” one shared.

“Use a spot of bleach with hot water before leaving to sit a while. Make sure to rinse thoroughly,” a third added.

Remember, if you are using bleach, use rubber gloves to protect your hands.

You should also always ventilate a room by opening the windows when using bleach, as the smell can be quite strong.
