Study Finds That Kids With Older Mums Do Better

HerFamily

It is common knowledge that you should think about your fertility sooner rather than later and that having kids in your 30s can bring a number of risks.

But a new study, published in the Population and Development Review journal, has concluded that children born to older mothers do better than those born to younger mums.

A group of researchers looked at the data of 1.5 million men and women in Sweden between the years of 1960 and 1991.

Based on the levels of fitness and education among kids in relation to the mum’s age, it was found that children born to older mothers were healthier, better educated, and taller.

According to reports, the findings have nothing to do with the mum’s age but is simply down to the fact that as years go by, there is more advancement in terms of education and medicine.

It is important to keep in mind that there are risks associated with having children in your later years. Check out this infographic which shows the effect time has on your fertility. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please speak to your GP.
